Nir Nakav has been obssessed with drums for over 35 years. He graduated the Tel Aviv Youth Orchestra when he was 18 and was the drummer of the first Army Jazz Ensemble during his military service in the IDF. Nir completed his studies at Musicians Institute in Hollywood in 1995.

Best known for his work with Israel's premier metal act, Salem (with whom he released five albums and two DVD's), Nir has been featured on dozens of rock and metal albums, played shows around the world and has written columns for Sick Drummer Magazine. Nir is currently the head of the drum department at the Rimon School of Jazz and Contemporary Music and Alon High School for The Arts.
